Golf Course Reviews – One Golfer’s Pebble Beach Is Another’s Meh

We’re bringing you our own take on golf course reviews; think P ‘n’ A vs. PGA …

Patrick has been to a couple of golf tournaments at Pebble Beach as a spectator and considers it really one of the most amazing courses in the country.

Some say Pebble Beach is overrated, but we have a few nice things to say about it, as well as some Pebble Beach videos taken after a beautiful road trip to Monterey.

An additional draw for Pebble Beach is the breathtaking 17-Mile Drive!

There is, of course, some resistance to the concept of paying $10.50 to drive on a road, but it is truly spectacular and … what do you get for $10.50 nowadays anyway that’s better than a life-enhancing memory that will last forever (or at least until/unless the memory-loss kicks-in!)?

We will be posting some of our videos from Pebble Beach and 17-Mile Drive on our YouTube channel soon, although we found that it was hard to do justice to the views with just our phones and a GoPro. That said, you’ll get the gist, and here are some links you can visit for more information.

Oh yes – and the golf course! We didn’t play golf there, although we absolutely plan to in the future – we were on a budget when we went to Monterey and the price to play at Pebble Beach reflects the premium experience.

As this blog is being written, (2020) the greens fee at Pebble Beach is USD $575.00. Also, if you’re in for a penny, you’re in for a pound and you might as well splurge to have a caddy for another $95 or so… then there’s the tip for the caddy… you’re into it for about $800 by the end of the day, plus you are going to want to check out the elegant dining – who could resist this amazing looking food and the truly inspiring views… *sigh* – it would be nice to be there right now!
